Yard Sale

My new next door neighbors are having a yard sale today. They invites us to add stuff to sell, but when we started looking around the house & garage, decided that we are not ready to "get rid of" anything. Comes the day we hit the road in the motorhome, then I'll be all over it!

We did go over and help them set up, and had a quick once over their stuff. I really like yard sales, but it's something I have to do alone. I just want to breeze through, knowing that most of the items for sale I wouldn't necessarily want either. I was looking for old buttons in her stash, but to no avail. She did have a red leather skirt & jacket for sale straight out of the 80's, big shoulders and all! We laughed about it, but after I got home I started thinking how I'd like to cut it up and make something else out of it. May have to make another trip over there!

Here's the kind of yard sale I'd love to find!!!

Just look at all that shabby chic!!! I could roll in it!!! This is actually a picture of a flea market over in CA out of Rachel Ashwell's book, Shabby Chic Collection. I would never find anything like this in our area. By the time people move here, they've already left this kind of stuff behind.

Have a great Saturday!

I always hear about people who find great treasures and bargains at yard sales. Can you believe that I have never been to one? I think I better start hunting around my neighborhood. It sounds like fun!
