I Just Love Him!

Isn't he just the best!? We bought him in a little shop across the street from Cafe Puccini in North Beach in San Francisco, about 10 or 11 years ago. I don't think that little shop even exists anymore, but I'm so grateful that we found him back then.

I never thought about naming him until recently. I'm not sure why. I just know that I love, love, love him. Without a name it's like loving someone from afar. A fantasy love affair, or some such nonsense.
He hangs in a niche above our mantle in the livingroom. I painted the backround a midnight blue so that he would pop, and also because our couch and chair are a similar shade of blue. Imagine that!
I thought about trying to paint stars around him, but I'm just not sure. I also thought about some kind of candle thingy with a star on top. Or maybe a row of votives underneath him. Suggestions welcome!
So back to his name. The first one that came to mind while I was looking at him was Leonard. Then Jack. Then Pops. But I'm thinkin' Leonard. Who does he look like to you?

So many questions...aaaahhh :o)

I thought Jack. I personally wouldn't paint in the stars because it's so permanent for him. He might like a change of scenery now and then. I like the idea of some sort of candle...something with a spark, a glimmer...but not too much, something to keep him company when you're not there to admire him :o).

Just my thoughts...I know they didn't help much but that's what they were.

Heather, I don't really have anywhere else in the house that would showcase him like that niche. He may be there until we move...especially since I painted the space behind him Midnight Blue! But you're right, something that will match his spark and glam!

MMM... Thanks so much for stopping by! I did check out your blog & thought yours was awesome too! I'll definitely be back!

Isn't the bloggy world an amazing thing??? I swear! So many different people, and places, and so much to learn about each other! I love it!

bohemian glass beds at the end of threads, pinned to the ceiling - they will glitter and move slightly in lamplight.

I'd name him Manny. He's great!

Ooo, I agree! I think he looks like a Manny! Or a Reginald. Don't ask me why. :-)

By the by, my verification word was 'chinto' and now it's 'pinga'. I feel like it's swearing at me in Spanish!
