Ah, Sunday morning. I love Sunday mornings. Saturdays are made for cleaning house, running errands, being busy. But Sunday mornings, for me, are a time to relax, listen to classical music, dream a bit, and think of creative things I'd like to do.
While checking in to some of my favorite blogs this morning, I found this. Kim is a very talented, creative, and funny woman. I guess you have to have a great sense of humor with 4 kids (under 5?).
What I loved about her painting is the shading, the highlights, the whimsey of it. Check out her website! Right up my alley. Man! How I'd love to be able to do that!
So that's what I'm dreaming about this morning. So often I'll try something, and because it's not great to begin with, I figure I can't do it. I'm tired of giving up so easily. So without actually making a "resolution" for the new year, I'm going to try the concept of "practicing!" Reading about things, the how to of them.
What is it that you would like to learn to do better?

Knit socks. Not better, just plain learn how to do it!
I love to cook, even have a blog on it man dish...but I would love to turn it into a career, so my thing I dream of is cullinary school;)
I want to continue to refine my cooking skills too. I also think I should pick up my sketch book again. It has been a long time.
Happy Sunday!!!
Pam, it must be a special type of yarn to make socks. I'm thinking about sweater yarn and wondering how you get your shoes on! Ha!
Steven,
My son is doing culinary arts. and of course, hubby is an incredible cook. I hope you do it!
Hey Kelly,
How about posting some of your sketches? I'd love to see them!
Friday evening when I lay my head on my pillow is my best time. I go to sleep knowing I can sleep in as late as I wish.
I don't make resolutions, because I know I will never be able to keep them.
You really have me thinking with that question. I think for now that I shall make a big note and give it more thought tomorrow - it's after midnight now and it's been a long day.
Some of my best failures have turned into interesting successes -- it is always fun to learn something new, practice, and admit defeat when it just isn't your thing. I totally agree Sundays are the best for dreaming of all the possibilities ahead of us. :)
Ann, I usually don't make resolutions either, but this is something I really want to get better about.
It's funny, when we started working for ourselves, the weekend did not have the same importance as before, but the thought of a Friday night is still the same!
GB, How do you ever stay awake until after midnight? I can't even do that on new years eve! LOL!
Marion, I can see that you are always open to learning new things. Your blog is a wonderful example of that!
