Holy moly, what a crazy week! I've been waking up in the middle of the night, worrying (that's not unusual, along with a few hot flashes!), trying to make sure I haven't dropped the ball workwise, making sure I have assisted living places lined up to visit over the next few days, make sure Mom is ready, and getting my wonderful neighbor to not only watch my dogs & birds, but also take my mother's cat for the next few days.
While calling around to Independent/Assisted living places, I realized that I needed some organization because the conversation was all over the place. Because some "marketing" persons (that's who you have to talk to for rates & down & dirty information) were precise, helpful, open, full of info, and some were not...I came up with my own list of questions/subquestions and catorgories for each of these facilities. Once I came up with that list, it became so much easier. I am planning on posting this list down the road after I we have visited these sites & seen for ourselves the reality of this new adventure.
I don't know that I'll have time to read & comment on your blogs that I enjoy so much over the next few days, or even post on mine for that matter.
So much for Friday Shoot Out & Relaxation this week! Have a great weekend!!!

Good luck with your adventure! I hope you find a good place that will make your mom happy.
Ciao!
Yes ...God bless your journey and what you have to do.
Overthinking can drown out any restful sleep...for the best of us, Lisa and not to mention hot flashes *pfth*. I know I haven't arrived there yet, but I have many friends that are right in the middle of them now.
Praying over you, these days ahead will be lighter, that God will lead you perfectly with surity of mind and confirmation, that He will call to you in that perfect moment to find rest and that you will listen, in that moment :).
Love to you, my sweet sister friend.
Good luck with all you have to do! I send my hugs and best wishes to you and your family:)
Whew!
Thinking of you!
;^)
I would say "good luck" because there is always a tiny bit of whatever it is that we call luck involved in these things. But you seem to be doing a really thorough job of attempting to eliminate it. I wish you success.
Wow - has been a busy week for you. Sounds like you could use a relaxing moment. hope you get to fit one in for yourself.
Shabbygirl...I will be thinking about you and Hubby. I don't envy what you have ahead of you...I too will be facing this decision with my 85 year father in the near future. He is not at all willing to even discuss the possibility but it is getting to the point where he needs assistance in even remembering to take his meds. Good luck with the journey and truly hope all works out.

Hi,
I wish you luck on finding a good place for your Mom. I am sure it is a very hard thing to do. Will look forward to your return.
Hope it will all work out well for you, and for your mum. I too am wondering every day how much longer it will remain the best solution (or at all possible) for my dad to stay on in his own home.
Good luck. Perhaps you'll be able to relax on someone else's site in a while!
Shabbygirl...just checking back with you to see how you are doing...hope things are working for the best.
Dan
