I've been wondering the last few days...what makes the circumstances just right for the baby bird to leave the nest for the first time. We've had so much wind lately, I was worried about that baby.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh what sweet shots, just lovely.
So cute! We saw a baby cardinal on our feeder yesterday, he was molting his baby feathers and starting to get in his bright red feathers.

It would have to be a really really heard heart that didn't find that appealing. I hadn't thought about it but having the correct conditions must be quite important. I have always thought about predators but weather must be almost as important. Especially here where the winds can be so strong.
